Sources of alternative green energy are renewable and are able to produce electricity in a natural way. Thus, they not only help in saving the environment but also in saving a lot on electricity bills. There are two types of alternative green energy sources: hydro energy, wind energy and solar energy come into one group while geothermal energy and bio-fuels come into the second group.
Alternative green energy which makes use of windmill technology is known as wind power. Solar energy or the heat and light from the sun is also a very popular form of alternative green energy. Hydroelectric power has seen worldwide implementation as an alternative green energy system. And last but not the least; geo-thermal energy has also experienced worldwide implementation. Other than all this, oil rich plants such as rapeseed may be processed into diesel to power engines known as bio-diesel and plants that are high in sugar content can be distilled to form ethanol which is used for running cars.
