Green furniture has been raising quite a noise these days. The difference between normal and green furniture is the kind of wood that is used. For green furniture, special harvested household hardwood is used. All these kinds of wood have to be certified by FSC-.Forest Stewardship Council. The job of FSC is to make sure that all wood that is harvested is used under control and in the proper way.

The FSC certified green furniture wood is hard to find and are mostly localized. You need to make sure that the wood that you’re using has the exact thickness, age and type that are used for green furniture. Appointing professional artists is a good idea as some professional carpenters actually use FSC certified wood exclusively for all their work.

Mother Nature has been enduring the torture by humans, since ages. It is time to take care of her and do everything that will inflict minimum pain to her.

Composting is a very simple way to do well to the environment by reducing the percent of solid waste. You can compost all the vegetable wastes and scraps from kitchen to give the microorganisms a good deal of composting work. The kitchen wastes like stems, potato peels, tips of carrots etc will eventually get decomposed and turn into great organic fertilizer. They can be used to provide nourishment to the soil.

Yard wastes like leaves, weeds, withered branches, clippings of grass etc can become a part of the compost heap. So, the garden waste will be sent back to the garden itself to make the place greener and full of flowers and fruits. Hence, say yes to compost and start the never ending green cycle.

From green receptions to recycled invitations, everything looks just so amazing. There are many ways on how the bride and groom can have a less negative impact on the planet due to their wedding. They can very well use recycled gold as diamond mining have a wrong impact on nature.

You can also use recycled paper for your invitations. In fact you can even make your own paper if you want to give a personal touch. Rather than printing your cards, you can get it written by a calligrapher. Also emailing can be the best option.

Use candles, not only do they look romantic, but they also are energy efficient. Use bamboos and other less unnatural things. You can definitely get organic flowers for the décor. Use local caterers; this will cut down on the fuel cost. Donate the leftovers and avoid using disposable items.

For this reason people are cutting down tress and clearing the forest areas so that it can be converted into an urban area or used for agriculture. This cutting down of trees and removal of forests is known as deforestation; something which should be stopped totally. In future, deforestation can lead to the extinction of the human race.

Because of deforestation we are experiencing drastic changes in the climate and geographical conditions worldwide. The occurrence of natural calamities is on an increase too. Global Warming has become a big issue and is becoming dangerous for humans just because of extensive deforestation. Humans still have the time to say NO to deforestation and save their planet Earth. Steps should be taken to punish people who practice deforestation. Planting of trees and plants should be encouraged.

It conserves natural resources and energy.

The whole system is – Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. Start up by recycling paper, cans and glass. Try to buy those items which are made up of recycled materials. These days, most of the companies like Samsung, Nokia or Sony Ericsson are making mobile phones with recyclable and recycled materials. They are cheap and are advanced technologically.

Use the batteries that are rechargeable. Do not waste the recyclable products like paper, cans or glass and place them separately in a recyclable bin. Replace your paper napkins with linen ones. They are washable and can be reused a number of times. Try to save and conserve water and energy. Be careful to close your taps and switch off the lights when you are not around. Recycling should be carried out everywhere – schools, workplaces and homes too.

Over use of the electronic gizmos leads to ample electricity wastage which in turn abets poisonous gases that are inevitably harmful for the environment.

Hence, the gizmo companies have started taking initiatives towards green revolution. Use of zero toxic substances in the production of electronic gadgets is one of the important steps. Today they strictly by pass the involvement of heinous vinyl and PVC plastic products in the manufacturing process. It helps a lot in the depletion of harmful emissions. These electronic companies now manufacture low energy consuming gadgets which can save up to 60% of energy. Also, the users should be careful and switch the gadgets off when not in use.

Recycling of electronic goods is another functional step. Many reputed companies like Nokia, Panasonic, and Samsung etc. are taking back their used products from the customers for recycling. It helps in the conservation of natural resources to a large extent.

When we talk of saving the planet Earth, most of us wonder if our tiny efforts can bring about a difference. The answer is a definite yes. It is a collective outcome of millions of small actions that can go a long way in preserving and protecting our environment.

The most important contribution that can be made by each and every individual is to plant trees in their locality. A major cause of the existing ecological imbalance has been the rapid and widespread deforestation. By planting trees, you can help increase the forest cover and in turn, restore the balance. Forests help keep the planet cool by absorbing greenhouse gases as well as sunlight from the atmosphere. So, plant more and more trees in your neighborhood and make a great gesture towards a beautiful planet.

If yes, you should be having a backyard of your own. Most people staying in their own houses or bungalows have been noticed to have been using the same for warehousing and garbage dumps. However, in the current times of lack of forestation and greeneries, you should be more careful regarding space usage.

You can start doing a lot in your backyard, which can be in the form of gardening. You can have a lovely lawn with several plants and trees around to have a greener environment. This can instead increase the oxygen around your place. You need to understand that there has been a lot of space constraint and every bit of space left should be utilized wisely. You can take up gardening as your hobby as it can provide you with a lot of happiness. Watching a tree grow can bring a smile of satisfaction to your face!

GREEN – the word is found to be increasingly prevalent in our lives these days. The awareness of living in an eco-friendly environment is slowing catching up with the masses. The need to reach out to others has always been a necessity and there is no other better way than saying it with eco gifts.

With so many multi-national companies grooming up at every corner, it is very important to promote the business ideals that get attention of the consumer. A better way to reach out in business is through a promotional gift that is ideal to the consumers. These gifts can be made out of eco- friendly materials that help in targeting the potential clients and in generating an environmental awareness in a larger way.

Promotional gifts are more cost effective and help in the re-cycling of waste materials. With many options available on eco-friendly gifts, choose from note pads to desk stands. They are all made from recycled materials like any other ecological products. The use of promotional products has become the norm for any company to thrive and to support being green has only made the responsibility even higher. They contribute in saving the environment from hazardous destruction and also help in promoting the business in a friendly way.

Some of the usual promotional products include pens, show pieces and gifts made out of plastic. They are very harmful for the environment. So wisely choose gifts that are made from eco- friendly materials such as corn starch. Select products such as glass or coffee mugs made from recycled material. Companies other than the regular MNCs also promote business through eco gifts to target a wider audience. It is very common for sports brand labels to give away gift like golf products, shoes and balls. Sports and fitness gift ideas are a new concept and are slowly evolving with time. Most of the sports gear are checked for chemical and allergic resistance and made from good quality materials that comply with the green standards.

They can be gifted on any occasion such as birthday, seasonal greetings, special offers, and many more. With simple, minimal design and packing, the recycled product would be a better way to build bridges among people. Always check for the label, to ensure that the gifts are completely eco -friendly and are recyclable.

Promotional gifts are widely appreciated and it makes sense to stay ahead of the rest with unique ways of helping and initiating changes in the society. There are always numerous ways to publicize and gain acknowledgment and going green takes it further by helping to reduce the amount of wastage by recycling and creates a better surrounding for all around us.

Excessive use of non-renewable resources, excessive release and dumping of non-biodegradable effluents in our environment and basically using all that we have at a rate that renders the resource irreplaceable, and polluting the environment to such an extent that even replacements are not good enough.

One contribution that you can make for a better today and tomorrow is to shift to using green or eco friendly products. These are not limited to hi-fi gadgets and automobiles, but are as simple green diapers! Yes, why not start the upbringing of your child in a green way from the most basic step possible.

Disposable diapers, although might seem harmless; cause a lot of harm to the environment as they are non-biodegradable and hence as stubborn as polythene bags. They are obviously going to be used and thrown away excessively, so why not make a wise choice and choose something as basic as eco-friendly diapers to play your part in saving your planet?
