Therefore, you should go for techniques that would help you to save your energy as well as the use of excess water. In average households, almost 135000 gallons of water is used up every year for laundry of 400 loads. By doing the laundry with energy efficient techniques, you can reduce the use of water to 6500 gallons in a year.

You will be able to save as much as 7000 gallons of water, which, for your information can be used for filling up as many as three swimming pools in your backyard or serve as a source of drinking water for a lifetime for as much as six people. Therefore, it is important that you switch to eco friendly techniques of laundry.

Fossil fuels and non-renewable sources of energy which have helped the earth run for years is now getting over faster and faster. It is our responsibility to switch to renewable sources and save what we can so that we can live comfortably and leave a comfortable life on earth for our next generations. This is called sustainable development.

There are many ways to save electricity. If you live in a community, you can all sit down and settle down on a renewable source of energy such as solar power or wind power. If everybody chips in you all will have unlimited energy, that too without harming the environment. Also, remember to switch off fans, air conditioners and lights when you’re not in the room. Invest in smart cooling air conditioners, which detect presence and switch off themselves when the room is empty. Always remember to use minimum number of lights and switch of all appliances at night no matter how sleepy you are.

When you decide to build an aquaponic garden the first thing you need to consider is the location where you want to place your aquaponic system, in order to understand the conditions that you have to face like whether artificial or real sunlight is to be utilized. You also must consider the temperatures, climate. If you want a proper health for your aquaculture and plans u must ensure that your water supply has enough oxygen to maintain your garden. You can do this by using simple designs of tubing and air pumping. You must ensure and do a little research on what kind of fish suits your aquaponic system. Well, a bio dome is a miniature ecosystem and it allows your kids to learn about the basic eco cycles. Here are some tips to build the bio dome. First, take a container and put pebbles for up to 2 inches in it. This will let the plants drain properly. Second, on top of the pebbles, sprinkle a layer of activated charcoal. The activated charcoal keeps the air and water inside the bio dome clean.

Third, on top of the activated charcoal put a layer of sphagnum moss. On top of the moss put a layer of potting soil. The layer should be at least 2 inches. Next, pot the plants in the soil. The potting soil should be water well with distilled water. Put the lid on your homemade bio dome and put the container in a place where the plant will receive adequate sunlight.

We need to change our lifestyle into a much greener way to save the Earth. We should start off with the basics at least and then try to bring about much more relevant changes. Grow plants and trees in your surroundings and backyard. People should take care of the environment around them.

Stop using appliances which use non-renewable sources of energy and try replacing them with the ones that use solar energy. Nowadays you can easily get appliances and devices which work with solar power. Though these may be a bit expensive, but nothing compared to the importance of going green at present. Conserve drinking water and electricity in your day-to-day life. Keep your environment clean and restrict yourself from using items which cannot be recycled; things like plastic bags should be avoided.

With issues like global warming and fuel exhaustion breathing down our neck it is necessary that we find environment friendly options for our needs. Wind is an excellent source of energy. It is naturally available in abundance and causes no pollution whatsoever. Taking up wind as an alternative for coal is a great idea. Using wind energy can help us in several ways.

Wind can be used to propel a fan to generate energy. This energy generated can be converted to electricity and made to run our electrical appliances. The power of the electricity depends on wind speed. We can also use wind energy into electricity to run generators. These are some smart ideas to make use of wind power. Take some time out, think about our dying planet and do your bit to save it. This way if each one of us takes a step to a cleaner and greener environment, we can once again reach a balanced state of life.

Thus, the environmentalists today from all over are stressing more and more on the eco-friendly car washing procedures. Here are some tips.

Prepare & measure 1 cup of dish washing liquid. Then, get powdered detergent (3/4 cup) which is devoid of chlorine and phosphate. Besides, make sure there is no fuel content in the detergent powder. Now take water (3 gallons) and mix with the above two ingredients. It should be an even blend with all the granules merged & settled prior to use.

Then, you can also use the waterless car cleaning agents for spot cleaning which are a great alternative to harmful and synthetic car cleaners. Lastly, it’s emphasized to count on the sponges with a cellulose base rather than the sea sponge or wood pulp.

Green furniture has been raising quite a noise these days. The difference between normal and green furniture is the kind of wood that is used. For green furniture, special harvested household hardwood is used. All these kinds of wood have to be certified by FSC-.Forest Stewardship Council. The job of FSC is to make sure that all wood that is harvested is used under control and in the proper way.

The FSC certified green furniture wood is hard to find and are mostly localized. You need to make sure that the wood that you’re using has the exact thickness, age and type that are used for green furniture. Appointing professional artists is a good idea as some professional carpenters actually use FSC certified wood exclusively for all their work.
